Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Telangana High Court has invalidated the Group 1 preliminary examination conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on June 11. The court has directed the TSPSC to arrange for a fresh examination following a petition submitted by some candidates and National Students Union of India leader Venkat Balmoori.
The petitioners argued that the biometric system was not properly implemented during the examination, and OMR sheets were distributed without hall ticket numbers, raising concerns about the fairness of the process.
Remarkably, this marks the second time the TSPSC Group 1 examination has faced cancellation. The initial Group 1 prelims took place on October 16, 2022, but were subsequently canceled due to the unfortunate leakage of question papers. In response, the Telangana Government initiated an inquiry to investigate the question paper leak.
