WhatsApp is preparing to launch an exciting new update for both iOS and Android users. The Meta-owned messaging app is enhancing its status feature by allowing users to share voice notes up to one minute in duration, doubling the previous 30-second limit, according to WA Beta.
Users have long requested the ability to share more meaningful and extended content on their status. This new update aims to provide users with greater flexibility in their sharing experience, enabling them to share more moments and stories with their contacts, ensuring that the platform remains a preferred choice for millions worldwide.
How the Extended Voice Note Feature Works:
- To use the new feature, simply hold down the microphone button, just like sending a voice note in chats.
- If you change your mind or wish to cancel the recording, you can slide to cancel the voice note.
In addition to longer voice notes for status updates, WhatsApp is working on several other exciting features. Enhanced Privacy Settings will provide users with more control over who can view their status updates, and Extended Video Duration will allow users to share videos up to one minute in length, doubling the previous 30-second limit.
