Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy via telephone on Wednesday. Their conversation centered on enhancing the partnership between India and Ukraine, as well as addressing the ongoing conflict involving Russia.
In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “Had a good conversation with President @ZelenskyyUa on strengthening the India-Ukraine partnership. Conveyed India’s consistent support for all efforts for peace and bringing an early end to the ongoing conflict. India will continue to provide humanitarian assistance guided by our people-centric approach.”
This exchange followed shortly after the Prime Minister’s telephonic conversation with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia. Given Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine over two years ago, PM Modi emphasized the necessity of diplomacy and dialogue in resolving the conflict, in addition to discussing bilateral relations.
