Oil marketing companies have announced a price hike for commercial LPG cylinders, effective immediately, just in time for the festive season. According to a report by ANI, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹48.50. However, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged, with a 14 kg household cylinder still priced at ₹803.
The revised cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder is now ₹1,967 in Hyderabad, up from ₹1,919. Meanwhile, the price of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders remains unchanged at ₹317.
This price hike will directly impact businesses like restaurants, hotels, and other establishments that rely heavily on these cylinders, potentially increasing their operating costs. The increase comes after a similar revision on September 1, when the price of commercial cylinders rose by ₹38, bringing the cost to ₹1,919 in Hyderabad.
Despite the hike for commercial users, domestic LPG prices remain steady, providing some relief to households. A 14 kg domestic cylinder continues to be priced at ₹855.
These price changes reflect the volatility in the global LPG market, influenced by factors such as fluctuating fuel prices and currency exchange rates. As businesses across India adjust to the new rates, some may pass on the increased costs to consumers, potentially affecting prices in various sectors.
