BRS Working President KTR has filed a defamation lawsuit against Minister Konda Surekha, alleging that her comments were intended to harm his reputation. A hearing took place in Nampally court regarding KTR’s petition, where he requested criminal action against Surekha.
On October 3, KTR issued legal notices to Surekha, demanding an apology for her remarks. During a press conference, Surekha accused KTR’s supporters of posting obscene content about her on social media and suggested that KTR was involved in illegal phone tapping. Additionally, actress Samantha claimed that KTR was a factor in her divorce.
The BRS party reacted strongly to these allegations, with female corporators filing a police complaint against Surekha and demanding action. Following Surekha’s lack of response to the notices, KTR proceeded with the defamation suit, leading to an inquiry on Thursday.
Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna also joined the legal action, filing his own defamation suit against Surekha. He appeared in Nampally special court, accompanied by witnesses Supriya and Venkateswarlu, to assert that Surekha’s statements were false. In his court statement, Nagarjuna expressed that Surekha made disrespectful remarks about his family, particularly regarding his son Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s divorce, which he claimed tarnished their family’s reputation. He called for criminal charges against Surekha.
