In Chandigarh, a tragic incident unfolded as five members of a family were discovered lifeless in their residence in Adampur, Jalandhar district. The victims included 59-year-old Manmohan Singh, his wife, two daughters, and a three-year-old granddaughter, all found by the police on Sunday night.
Manmohan Singh’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while the other family members were found on a bed in the same room. A suicide note left by Manmohan Singh revealed that he took this drastic step due to financial issues, as stated by Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural), Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Manmohan Singh strangled his family members before taking his own life. The couple’s eldest daughter, along with her minor daughter, was visiting at the time. Manmohan’s son is married and resides abroad, according to the police.
The grim discovery came to light when Manmohan’s son-in-law, unable to reach anyone by phone, alerted authorities. The police, accompanied by the son-in-law, found the devastating scene inside the house, with Manmohan Singh having hanged himself and the bodies of his wife, two daughters, and granddaughter also present.
