Nagarjuna has rejected Konda Surekha’s apology and is moving forward with a new defamation lawsuit against the minister. Recently, Surekha claimed that KTR’s involvement caused a rift between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, leading to their divorce. This statement has ignited significant controversy, prompting Nagarjuna to file a criminal defamation case against her, along with a new Rs 100 crore lawsuit.
In an interview with Major News Channel, Nagarjuna stated, “We filed a criminal defamation case yesterday and are now in the process of filing another Rs 100 crore lawsuit against her. Her outrageous comments cannot be ignored. While she claims to have apologized to Samantha, what about my family? I haven’t heard a word of apology to us!”
When asked if he would withdraw the lawsuit if Surekha apologized, he firmly replied, “No, not at all. This has gone beyond personal matters. The slander has affected more than just my family. The support we’ve received from both prominent and lesser-known figures in the Telugu industry shows that we are committed to addressing the rot that has infiltrated our system. We will not be soft targets anymore. Our legal actions aim to caution other politicians against using our names for political gain.”
For context, Surekha recently suggested that KTR was responsible for the breakup between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha, claiming that his alleged interference caused turmoil within the Akkineni family, ultimately leading to the high-profile divorce.
She alleged that KTR demanded Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, Samantha’s refusal led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. In response, KTR issued a legal notice to Surekha to retract her statement. Although she has since backed down, the controversy has stirred significant unrest in the film industry, with stars like Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, and Nani voicing their support for the Akkineni family and Samantha.
